Don Bosco Technical Institute
DON BOSCO TECHNICAL INSTITUTE (DBTI)MOHANLALGANJ, is one such institution started in 1992, in response to the need of employment oriented skill training for the young people of North India. Over the years it has developed into a full grown training centre with state of the art facilities in the various trades, and keeps on growing further to meet the current needs of the job market. DBTI is a catholic Minority Institution administered by the Salesians of Don Bosco and is a unit of the Salesian Brothers Society, New Delhi.
The AIM OF THE INSTITUTE is to provide the young with a vocational training to prepare them to face life with a skill that will match the needs of the time. The courses are designed to give the greatest opportunity to those who have the least due to economic or social backwardness. Great emphasis is laid on the practical training in hard-skills as well as life-coping skills, so that they can be gainfully employed in the shortest period of time.

EXAMINATION AND AWARDS
The training offered is of a practical nature with sufficient theory. The trainee must obtain minimum grade in both to be awarded the DON BOSCO Certificate.
The trainees are assessed on a monthly basis, the report of which is given to the trainees and must be signed by the parents/guardians.
The cumulative marks and the regularity in attendance will form the basis for issue of certificates at the end of the course.
The institute is affiliated to the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF OPEN SCHOOLING (NIOS) for different courses. For these courses, the NIOS issues its own certificates after the examinations conducted in November and May.
ADMISSION AND WITHDRAWAL
Minimum age for admission is 15 years. Admissions are open to boys and girls having the minimum educational qualification, irrespective of caste or creed.
The application form must be accurately filled in, and it forms an agreement between the parents and the institution to abide by the rules of the institute.
All applicants must appear for an interview, at which the original certificates must be shown. Fees must be paid in full.
All regular trainees must wear the uniform prescribed and others are expected to be properly dressed to suit the training programme.
HOSTELS
Hostels Limited residential facilities are available to boys and girls in well furnished hostels. The trainees see to the cleanliness of the hostel and its premises, Preference will be given to Christian students in the hostel. Admission to the hostel is on condition that trainees are willing to abide by the rules and regulations as well as the directives of the management. If the behaviour of trainees is found to be detrimental to other inmates, he or she many be asked to leave the hostel at any time. In this matter, the decision of the Director is final and binding.
The trainees must take part in all the activities of the hostel.
